Elmwood Medical Centre is an accredited procedural clinic. Our services include:
- Family Planning Clinic
Contraceptive advice: Mirena, CopperT, Implanon (insertion and removal).
- Iron Infusions
Iron infusions are usually prescribed by doctors to treat iron deficiency anemia.
- Shared Care
Shared care is an arrangement between a birthing hospital and our GP. You see our GP for some pregnancy appointments, and you also have hospital appointments in early and later pregnancy.
- Venesections
Venesection (Phlebotomy) is the act of drawing or removing blood from the circulatory system through a cut (incision) or puncture for the purpose of analysis, blood donations or treatment for blood disorders.
- INR
An INR test measures the time for your blood to clot. It is also known as prothrombin time, or PT. It is used to monitor blood-thinning medicines.
